Medical Flexible Spending Account
To be eligible to participate in the flexible benefits plan, you must be age 30 or older with at least 5 years of service with a contributing food employer.

If you are eligible and elect to participate in the UFCW Local 1776 and Participating Employers Flexible Benefits Plan, you may allocate your Benefits Credits under the Flexible Benefits Plan to the UFCW Local 1776 and Participating Employers Medical Expense reimbursement Plan (known as the "Medical Flexible Spending account"), as it may be amended from time to time, are subject to the limitation of $500.00 maximum reimbursement per year as well as all other controlling provisions of the Medical Flexible Spending Account. Please refer to the Flexible Benefits Plan Summary, as well as your collective bargaining agreement, to determine whether you are eligible to participate in the flexible Benefits Plan. you should also refer to the Flexible Benefits Plan Summary for more details about allocating your Benefits Credits.

You may use the amount allocated to the Medical flexible Spending Account to pay expenses not covered under your medical coverage (for example, deductibles, copayments or coinsurance or other noncovered health care expenses), provided they are deductible medical care expenses in accordance with the Internal revenue Code or approved by the internal revenue service ("IRS") in pronouncements. Any amount reaming to your credit the Medical Flexible Spending Account at the end of any calendar year will be forfeited. You may receive a copy of the Medical Flexible Spending Account plan document upon your request to the Fund Office.
